Reception at Queen’s Park on Monday: Lessons from the United States: How Great Lakes Protection is an All-Party Priority
Opportunity to interview former Minnesota Congressman James L. Oberstar (Democrat), former Michigan Senator Patty Birkholz (Republican) and Environmental Defence spokesperson to discuss the importance of Great Lakes protection
 
Toronto, ON – Environmental Defence along with a former U.S. senator and a former U.S. congressman will be available for interviews on Monday to discuss the importance of protecting the Great Lakes. Both U.S. politicians were instrumental in securing strong measures for the Great Lakes.
 
While the proposed Great Lakes Protection Act is being debated in the Ontario legislature, elected officials are evaluating the pros and cons of this proposed legislation. Across the border, in the United States, bipartisan support for both an agenda and an aggressive budget for improving the Great Lakes occurred.
