Toronto, ON – Today Environmental Defence unveiled a bold new website, specifically designed to encourage more Canadians to take action on environmental issues.
“We want to empower as many Canadians as possible to speak up about environmental issues. The more voices speaking out about threats to our air, water, climate, and health, the more quickly change will happen. Our new website makes that easier and more interesting than ever,” says Tim Gray, Environmental Defence’s Executive Director.
Based on user feedback, the new website boasts improved navigation and mobile-responsive pages that increase the ease with which Canadians can take action on issues they care about, whether reducing exposure to toxic chemicals, speaking up for a new clean economy or protecting our freshwater.
With a focus on engagement, the website breaks down environmental issues into three sections: the problem, the solutions, and what Canadians can do to help. Featured supporter profiles help visitors feel part of a growing movement of Canadians taking action on the environment.
The new website boasts a clean design as well as an intuitive and consistent navigation system, with improved menu functionality, to lead visitors to the information most relevant to them. Fully responsive with mobile devices, the website is simple to navigate. Smart topic filters on blogs suggest to visitors other blogs they might like to read.
As part of a strategy to engage more Canadians about environmental issues, the new website will be supported with an online ad buy, including social media, news sites and influencer outreach.
